I met Vanessa the day I returned to work from my honeymoon. Vanessa "met" me because she was asked to start a day or two early to help cover the sales floor because everyone was attending my wedding! Many years have passed and many miles as well but it was wonderful to get to see Vanessa, Aaron and their new baby Esther! We had a quick session at Lake Poway, squeezed in a shot or two of Vanessa's niece and nephew and I held Esther as much as I could. (I think the Canon was feeling a little neglected!) Enjoy the baby eyes so very blue that i didn't do a single thing to punch up their color!

Loving Hands

The Doozleberry Family needed updated photos and with the crazy schedules we both had for the few days they were in town, we had exactly 1 hour to take pictures. Thankfully the boys shined! And smiled, and giggled and fell in love with my camera assistant (my 4 year old Lucy.) We had fun running around Spanish village and Balboa Park together and, once again, it is hard to pick only a few. Enjoy this beautiful family. Yesterday we introduced you to Summers Past Farms and the beauty it holds there. With this family, we discovered an awesome blue door that I just couldn't get enough of!

Life imitated art when I caught the men of the family resting from their glamorous job of smiling for the camera.....they didn't want to get back out of the chairs after that one!

Summers Past Farms

Last year-um, almost a whole year ago-we had some clients who wanted their pictures taken out at Summers Past Farms in Flinn Springs. It is a lovely place to visit any time of year and you can find beautiful gardens, plants and crafts and even soap for sale. They also host great events including a fairy festival each June.

So we met 2 families out on different days and had so much fun exploring every corner of this property! If you are looking for a location with some great personality, Summers Past might be a good choice for your family photos!

I am playing catch up this week so hang on!

This family flew all the way from Texas to have us take their pictures!
Okay, so they MIGHT have also been on vacation visiting their family as well but I think we were part of the attraction!

Love this family so so very much and watching their kids grow up has been such a pleasure in our lives!

They were one of our first clients years and years ago when we took this first picture....

So when we got back together, the kids decided we needed to redo it! And they are the ones who knew where everyone should be laying!

It isn't hard getting good shots of these beautiful children.....

This face holds 2 of my favorite dimples in the whole wide world.

I had a VERY hard time just picking one of this sweet girl--she was a natural!

And tell me these aren't the most amazing blue eyes ever?

All those good looks? Well, here's where they got them!

I have some clients waiting, waiting, waiting for their pictures and due to some computer problems (which did NOT result in me throwing my laptop out the nearest window) it is taking a little bit longer than usual. So, for my dear Mrs. Doozleberry, here is a sneak peek at your two boys....too bad they aren't so very cute that they crawl right off the screen and beg you to play with them.

I Now Pronounce You.....In Love

We got the chance to photograph April and Bela's wedding last weekend and it was one of the most beautiful things we have ever witnessed. The bride and groom are amazing examples of inward and outward beauty and it all comes through in the following pictures.

We had a lot of fun with the sun flare in the shots you will see. It is my favorite thing to play with right now...but don't worry! There's some shots that are properly exposed too!

I know in a sneak peek, there should really only be a couple of shots but I just couldn't decide! So, I picked them all.

While we were trying to get pictures of Bela on his own, he kept looking just off camera at his new bride. It was so touching to see! (And it made her smile too!)

Spring at the Beach

Jesse and Kaity met us down on the beach on one of the most beautiful evenings we have seen this spring. Once we started taking pictures, the beauty of the beach was quickly overshadowed by this lovely couple. So in love. And so much fun! Jesse came with a ton of ideas (our favorite kind of client!) and even got Kaity to run through the waves to a beautiful moss covered rock for one of our favorite shots of the evening. Thanks for the fun Jesse and Kaity!!

Thankfully Victorria left her "game face" home for our photo session. We were so thrilled to do her pictures because she's family! We headed over to La Jolla and Shell Beach for this series of photos. I had a hard time choosing only a few so bear with me.

Meet the newest addition to the B family.

And when you look at these pictures, you might notice something.....

...just how beautiful they all are. (Did you think I was going to say something else?)

It was an honor to photograph this family-my friends-with their newest miracle: Matthew. And it was hard to pick just a few shots so I am sharing a whole bunch!

I love this family. It is beautiful for so many reasons.

When this family called they knew exactly what they wanted portrayed in their pictures: San Diego. They will be moving soon and always get family portraits for each place they've lived. We knew Windansea Beach was the place to go!

Our location did not disappoint. We had the most amazing sunset to work with plus the beautiful family on the other end of our lens, this was a winning combination!

The colors here aren't quite what they are "in real life" you just have to take my word for it!

These are only a few...I will post more later-they are hard to pick between them!

Took the kids out for a photo session recently and while it was stinking freezing, it was hard to tell on their faces. They are such good sports. I got a great one of the 3 big kids and then focused mostly on Nick for some shots to use as presents.

He sure is one good looking kid and it was hard to pick just one so you get to see all of them!

Where it All Began

David and I begin with this family since we met in their wedding. And our beginning of branching out into taking pictures of other people begins with them as well. Our fee back then was taking us out to dinner and their boys were considerably smaller in size. I find it funny that they keep growing up since in my head, they are still 2 and 3 years old.

We had fun running around Balboa Park with these dear friends.

I am behind in posting our past work for you so I am going to catch up over the next few days...

We simply HAD to reshoot Sweet Cora after the very sad faces she had at our November mini sessions in the park. Thankfully, we did find a few smiles along with her very introspective and sweetly serious face.

Thank you Cora, you are so beautiful....and I think I could look at your eyes forever!

Christmas Mini Sessions

Merry Christmas!

Well, not yet.

But we have to get ready because before Christmas, there are your Christmas Cards that need pictures of your beautiful family in them. And we have Christmas Mini Sessions for you! This year, we have two days to choose, each with a different location.

Saturday, November 8 from 10am to 4pm at a beach location.
(We are still picking the specific beach-so many to choose from!)

Sunday, November 9 from 1pm to 4pm at Balboa Park (for the non-beachy people)

Mini sessions are $45 per time slot.
Each session lasts 15 minutes.
We will give you a CD with 3-5 processed images of your choosing and each additional image $6. We will also host your images on our website for you to view and share with friends and family. It can be password protected, if you wish.

We held our Fall Mini Sessions this weekend and had a blast out at Old Poway Park! I promised a sneak peek to my families so here you go guys!

Sweet 3 month old Cora wasn't in the mood to be photographed. You should have seen that bottom lip. But it doesn't stop her from being oh so very cute.

Presenting 1 year old Layla! She showed up in a cowboy hat and boots and then switched to the tutu you see here. All of it? A-dorable.

The Ramos Family have been faithful subjects and this was our first time with their newest and sweetest addition, Avery. What fun I had with this beautiful family.
